
“X-Men Origins: Wolverine” will be slashing its way into theaters May 1, 2008! President Tom Rothman of Fox Film Group
confirmed that the Wolverine movie will be a prequel to the trilogy of X-Men movies. Throughout his comic history, Wolverine has a multitude stories to tell, many of them revolving around his hazy past with Weapon X.

“Wolverine,” with Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Logan from the legendary “X-Men” films, will feature a screenplay
by the talented scribe David Benioff (The Kite Runner,25th Hour and Troy), and will purportedly follow Marvel’s
Canucklehead through his mysterious origins and early exploits.
“Wolverine,” which is slated for release on May 1, 2008, is scheduled to begin filming in November and
Gavin Hood is set to direct the upcoming Wolverine solo movie as announced by Twentieth Century Fox.

Gavin Hood known for his filem “Totsi” which won the Academy Award for best foreign film in 2005. His newest film, “Rendition,” starring Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal, opens October 12.
Reprising his role as Wolverine from the “X-Men” movies, Hugh Jackman stars in the blockbuster which,
according to VARIETY, could feature a young William Stryker, Sabretooth, Weapon X and a whole lot of other
mutants€”both returning and new characters.
